BEDROCK
Bedrock is an audiovisual concert performance. The immersive sound of the voices blends with video projections, subtle scenography and light design, resulting in a sensuous experience that opens up the space around us and within us, letting us hear with the eyes and see with our ears.
So I build
Brick by brick
While walls are tumbling
What is of importance to us, now? What are we longing for? Where can we find something to lean against, something to hold on to, our own bedrock? This is the central theme of the texts in Bedrock, written by Siri Gjære, based on the singers individual reflections.
The music is composed by each member of Trondheim Voices and is performed in a mix of structures and free improvisation, as acoustic and electronic sound collages.
The human voice is an incredibly flexible instrument, and Trondheim Voices push the boundaries further by incorporating live electronic processing through their custom designed Maccatrols developed by Asle Karstad.
